Elementor Video Widget – Not Displaying/Autoplaying

Elementor Video Widget – Not Displaying/Autoplaying

Short Intro:

The Elementor video widget is not showing when used for tablets and mobile. You can only see a white space where the video is supposed to be. The background video disappears after it is played once.

Problem:

In the tablet and mobile versions, the video widget isn’t showing even when set to autoplay. You can only see a white space where the video should be. You have to add controls and manually click play to be able to see the video. The background video also disappears after it is played once.

These videos are self-hosted.

Solution:

For issues with the video not showing on tablet and mobile: Make sure to set the video to mute even when the video has no sound. Browsers block autoplay when the video is not set to mute.

For issues with the background video disappearing: Elementor adds a ‘display: none’ after it is done playing. Add the CSS ‘display: block‘ to the video to keep it on display.
